Ein guter Freund von mir, hat mir gestern dieses Video einer versteckten Kamera-Show gesendet mit dem Zitat: “das koennte man bei dir vielleicht auch einmal probieren ” und bezog sich dabei auf meine (ungiftigen) Schlangen.

Es gibt im englischen ein altes Sprichwort: “It’s all fun and games, until someone looses an eye.” (Es ist immer alles lustig, bis jemand ein Auge verliert…) Ich bin kürzlich bei YouTube über diesen Kurzfilm gestolpert, der auf sehr eindrückliche Weise veranschaulicht, wieso man NIE mit den potentiellen Ängsten von Menschen spielen sollte. NIE.

WARNUNG: Dieses Video ist nicht für leicht beherzte, aber wer es sich ansieht, wird eine bleibende Erfahrung für’s Leben daraus ziehen.

I have been having snake pets ever since I can remember. Some of them, have even become publicly famous… This was many years ago, when I still lived in St. Gallen. But for your comfort, no plant survives more than 3 years around me, but my snakes have been with me for over 12 years.

Mice as a matter of fact aren’t sweet. They taste more like rotten sushi with a fragrance of urin and a lot of fur, so I guess you couldn’t really call snakes big gourmets either… but none the less, they seem to love them sweet little mice.

I have 3 pet king snakes. 2 Lampropeltis triangulum cambelli (Cabelli kingsnake) named Romeo & Juliette and 1 Lampropeltis triangulum greeri (Grey banded king snake) named Casper (jup, like the friendly ghost, ’cause casper is the friendliest of all snakes…
