Google and free speach
This is one of the reasons I like Google.
This corporate movie, as most are, is a bit glorifying, but when in comes right down to it, I think the main difference between Google and print publishers is, that Google really enables people to speak, where as print publishers believe they are entitled to speak for the people. Being among the few people with a printing press has really corrupted many publishers making them think, they are the authority, where as it is the people, and they should be voicing that.
4th of July Party in Zurich
As usual on the 4th of July, I fly uncle Terry’s flag and celebrate with a BBQ and Burgers Party.
The flag has special meaning to me, as I inherited it when my grandmother passed away.
I remember, that when I was a young boy, about 8 or so, I had visited my Grandmother one summer and saw the flag. Living in Switzerland, I asked, if I could have it and she explained to me, that she had received it, when her son Terry died in vietnam and that she would keep it.
After she passed away, I asked my uncles and aunts, if I could have it, as I would really enjoy having a US flag at home and this one undoubtedly had high family value. Everyone agreed and I got the flag. It was just a few days later, that I actually realized, that I had seen the flag many many years ago as a small boy.
I have been flying it every 4th of July since I got it.
Of course, the BBQ was a lot of fun too
